THE ASCAP FOUNDATION MISSION
The ASCAP Foundation is dedicated to nurturing the talent of tomorrow, preserving the legacy of the past and sustaining the creative incentive for today’s music creators through a variety of educational, professional, and humanitarian programs and activities which serve the entire music community.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity, established in 1975 after Jack Norworth, writer of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," left a royalty bequest to ASCAP to assist deserving young composers. We are proud to operate and financially support a variety of programs impacting millions of music creators and music lovers of all ages nationwide focusing on music education, talent development and humanitarian programs including: community outreach; commissions; music scholarships and fellowships; songwriter, composer, lyricist workshops and showcases; summer music camps, as well as special awards and honors.
