Native American Composer Apprentice Project
Grand Canyon, AZ

Since 2008, The ASCAP Foundation has provided a grant to The Grand Canyon Music Festival to support its Native American Composer Apprentice program. The program provides a creative opportunity for 25 talented students annually within the Native American communities of Arizona to work with ASCAP composers to create original works, which are then fine tuned with the help of ASCAP member & Composer-in-Residence, Ravon Chacon and performed by renowned NYC quartet Ethel. The program was honored with the 2012 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the President’s Committee on the Arts & Humanities.
