The ASCAP Foundation Grants

The ASCAP Foundation, established in 1975, is a publicly supported charitable organization which is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is dedicated to supporting American music creators and encouraging their development through music education and talent development programs. The ASCAP Foundation considers proposals from other 501(c)(3) organizations engaging in music education and talent development programs that are consistent with the mission and objectives of The ASCAP Foundation and which support music education programs for aspiring songwriters and composers. Our average grant is approximately $2,500.



Reporting Requirements for All 2011 Grant Recipients

The ASCAP Foundation has established a formal reporting process for all 2011 grantees. This reporting system provides both qualitative and quantitative information on programs we fund.

All 2011 Grantees
All 2011 ASCAP Foundation grant recipients are required to complete The ASCAP Foundation Program Report at the conclusion of their 2011 project. Program Reports should be received in our office no later than October 1, 2011. Special arrangements can be made for programs ending after October 1, 2011.

The ASCAP Foundation Letter of Intent for New 2012 Funding

The Letter of Intent requesting new funding for the 2012 calendar year must be received in The ASCAP Foundation office no later that August 1, 2011. You will hear within one month of the deadline whether your organization will be invited to submit a Grant Application.

Grant Applications for new 2012 are by invitation only. If you are submitting a Grant Application you must have previously submitted a Letter of Intent and been invited by The ASCAP Foundation to complete and submit a Full Grant Application.
