Scott Starrett's Big Event

Extraterrestrials, political conspiracies and assassination plots populate the first season of NBC's new series The Event, and composer Scott Starrett has provided a soundtrack for them all. It's a heavy load, but this Juilliard-trained ASCAP member is up to the task. Scott's tension-racked orchestral score contributes mightily to the shows peaceful moments and thunderous action/adventure sequences alike, and proves that the quirky tone he set with his music for Drop Dead Diva isn't everything he's got up his composerly sleeve. In this video interview, Scott talks to us about The Event's distinctive scoring style, his writing process and his plans for the future. The interview was recorded just a few days before the two-hour mid-season premiere, which aired on NBC on March 7th. Watch the entire episode online right here).

Come along as Scott takes us on an exclusive tour of his home studio in the Hollywood Hills!
